My practice is eclectic and I utilize many theoretical approaches and techniques, ranging from CBT to Mindfulness, depending on client’s needs.

My educational background (particularly in Family Systems Theory) and experience in private practice has given me a deep understanding of Relationships – with ourselves and others – which is a focus of my work with both individuals and couples. Many of our current struggles with unwanted thoughts or behaviors can be traced back to our experiences in past relationships, and exploring these can give us the insight and understanding we need to move forward in new and positive ways.

I provide Trauma-informed care to my clients, working with the biological, psychological and social effects of past and present trauma. I primarily use IFS (Internal Family Systems) to help clients process and heal from complex trauma, and have received additional training in Trauma Treatment from the Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior.

My training allows me to effectively help Couples address recurring themes and dysfunctional cycles of behavior, as well as deal with past hurts, infidelity, parenting issues, sexual issues, etc. I provide needed tools to improve communication and cooperation within the relationship, leading to increased emotional intimacy and trust. Together we’ll create a stronger, healthier loving relationship.

For some couples, the best decision is to Divorce or Uncouple – I support clients as they navigate this transition, and if children are involved, give guidance in the best ways to help children adjust to changes in the family’s reorganization and teach healthy co-parenting skills.

I help families navigate any Parenting issues that might arise in all types of family configurations: intact, separated, single parent, and blended. I advise parents on implementing research-based best parenting styles and developmentally age-appropriate methods of discipline.

I am certified in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), and have worked as a National Suicide Hotline volunteer, giving me insight and experience in understanding and preventing suicide. I also hold a Certificate in Hypnosis, which can be used to help clients access their subconscious minds to aid in the conscious work of therapy. Hypnotherapy is particularly effective for aiding in the treatment of anxiety, as well as changing unwanted behaviors.
