Born and raised in Toronto, I’ve lived in Hawaii and then Portland, Oregon for much of my adult life, finally returning to my homeland in 2018. In addition to an Bachelors degree in Psychology, I hold a Masters degree in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling from Portland State University. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor in the US, a ‘Licensed Professional Counselor’ in the state of Oregon, and have now become a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario (#008682). My past experience includes working with individuals and couples in a clinical setting, and with families in a middle school. I maintained a Private Practice in Portland for four years prior to returning to Canada, and then opened one here in Hamilton in 2019. In addition to my formal education and counselling experience, I am in my mid-60s, so bring a wide variety of life experiences to my work, as well as an understanding from the client’s perspective, having undergone extensive and transformative therapy myself. I am passionate about counselling and love helping my clients attain their goals as well as accompanying them on their person growth journeys. I am registered with the CRPO and hold membership in the Canadian Counselling Association. I engage in continuing education and training to keep my skills up to date.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change. (Carl Rogers)
